2014 VIC Mums High Tea
Sunday the 4th of May was Bereaved Mothers Day and in Victoria we held avery special Mothers Day Luncheon at the Clarion on Canterbury in Forest Hill. It was a special day connecting bereaved mums together and recognising them as Mums and that Mothers Day is their day too. We had so many door prizes that everyone walked away with something special. We had an amazing lolly buffet so everyone got sent home with a bad full of lollies. At the lolly buffet were stunning cupcakes donated by Sophia Mya Cupcakes and beautiful cake pops donated by Sweet Sticks.
Everyone left with a gift bag full of some very generous donations and some very special handmade goodies too, including a candle with their babies names on them.
We had a wonderful photographer, Panos Photography, donate his time to very heartfelt, beautiful photos of not just the luncheon but everyone bought their PLA teddy or special teddy or keepsake and had a special professional Mothers Day photo in the courtyard with their bear or keepsake.
The highlight of the day was when we all went into the courtyard and each released our live butterflies in memory of our babies one at a time so we could all get a photo with our butterflies before they flew away.
Thank you so much to all the businesses that donated their products and time to this event. You helped to make this day as special as possible to all the mum's who attended.

Feedback from Mum's who attended the 2014 Mum's High Tea
"My first Mother’s day High Tea so felt a bit unsure of what it would be like, but put to ease quickly once I arrived. It was lovely to receive the gift bag on arrival – it was full of lovely things and a special surprise to see a personalised candle with Tayla’s name on it. It was a nice group of people, a nice venue. It’s nice to share pictures/bears of our babies. The set out was great, loved the butterfly release, went for right amount of time and felt special having a ‘high tea’ and receiving gifts. My mum came along for support, and she really enjoyed herself also. Thank you Renee for a lovley and successful event – you did a wonderful job." Lisa
"Thank you for the warm welcome as soon as we arrived. This was only our second year of attending and I enjoyed the opportunity to openly remember our little girl Ruby; to share and cry without judgement. I also enjoyed sitting with mothers who were facing their first mother’s day without their baby, I wanted to hear about their child and it showed me how far I have come in my grieving." Michelle
"Thank you again for such a beautiful and special day. The High Tea gave me the opportunity to have a day that was solely remembering my angel daughter Lucy. This allowed me to enjoy 'Mother's Day' with my older daughter Ella and be with her fully rather than sad and longing for recognition that I am mother to two beautiful girls, not just one." Belinda
