It is with great pleasure that I write to tell you our Inaugural Ball was a huge success, raising over $23,000 for bereaved families across Australia. This is an amazing effort and certainly surpassed what we hoped for which is just amazing.
The night was a sell out with 20 tables booked and 190 Guests. The room looked spectacular with the Chair Covers and sashes being donated by Style and Grace Wedding Function Hire, table centres donated by Alyssiums on Pirie and our Ball Booklet designed by Renee Fallon and printed free of charge from Reflex Printing.
Each guest received a gift bag valued at more than $80.00, just some of the items included edible goodies from Lees Cakes, Carmen’s, Go Natural, Blossom Cakes and Adelaide Chocolate School, photography voucher from our corporate photographer Photographyroom , Pyrex dish and many fantastic special offers from our supporters.
The Lakes Resort Hotel was the perfect venue with spectacular views of the Lake and the food and wine was of extremely high standard. We thank them for their support of our event.
Our MC for the night was our Ambassador Jane Hansen; Jane flew down from QLD for the event which was wonderful. Jane than you for taking this time to attend this event and share your story with our guests. We are so glad you were a part of such a momentous occasion for TLC.
The highlight for the night was our My Empty Arms DVD. The aim of this DVD is to show people the journey that bereaved parents have to go through when they lose their baby. We have had an incredible response from the presentation and we encourage you to view this and share with others to raise awareness for pregnancy and infant loss and the TLC Program.

Our Wine game was a huge hit, selling out within the first hour. Congratulations to Rob Gardiner for winning the bottle of Grange valued at $800.00. Thank you to the many businesses who donated wine as this raised some great fun for The Program.
Our major auction was a huge success raising over $7,000. A special mention and thank you to Harry from Omega Pictures Frames for donating some fantastic sporting memorabilia which were very popular amongst our crowd. Harry also donated the bottle of Grange from his personal collection. Harry, we can’t thank you enough for supporting our event and program.
Our Silent auction also proved very popular on the night with some friendly competition between guests! The silent auction raised almost $9,000- thank you to everyone who was bidding and congratulations to all of our lucky winners.
Thank you to our Band “Velvet” for the fabulous entertainment, everyone had a fantastic time with almost everyone on the dance floor!

The Ball was approximately 8 months in the planning. Thank you to the Ball Committee for their time, effort and commitment in making this event a success. I hope that you are all really proud of yourselves.
The funds raised at our Ball, really will ensure we can continue to provide and improve and bereavement support services for families across Australia.
