2011 Victorian Memorial Walkathon
Sunday 18th September 2011
The 2011 Victorian memorial walkathon on Sunday the 18th of September was our 2nd Walkathon . It was a beautiful day where over 200 people from across Victoria and interstate joined together to walk in memory of all the precious babies little lost lives.
The sausage sizzle was enjoyed by all and a jumping castle, fairy face painter and animal farm kept all the kids entertained.
The walk itself was a beautiful experience and many of the participants had personalised their own t-shirts in memory of their babies and wore them proudly. Others donned the programs Walkathon T-shirt and “Walking in Memory of” placards. It was a amazing sight to see so much support for our program in Victoria.
The balloon release was the highlight of the day with more than 400 balloons being released. Everyone’s eyes went skyward as the balloons, many with personalised messages floated high up into the Melbourne sky. This was a very emotional experience and provided an opportunity for everyone to honour all our precious angels.
The event was considered by everyone as an amazing success and people are already planning to attend next year’s walkathon.
Thank you to everyone who has raised funds, it has been so wonderful to watch the tally rise on Go Fundraise.
Thank you so much to everyone that came along and made the day just so special.
