Bear Giving Program
The program is the original bear giving program in Australia founded in Adelaide in 2002 by Trudi Penrose-Starr & Kylie Crawford in memory of their daughters. It is a special gift from one bereaved family to another, something for them to hold onto before they have to leave the hospital with such empty arms. Family's welcomed and embraced the gesture by giving bears back to other family's about to travel this journey.
The bear giving is the basis of the support program by connecting with bereaved families right at the very beginning and offering ongoing support.
We have been operating in every state of Australia since 2004 and now offers the program in every maternity hospital of Australia.

Ruby Bear
We are very exicted and proud to introduce our offical PLA Ruby Bear.
We have named our personalised bear… Ruby… after the October planetary gemstone. We wanted a name that reflects October Pregnancy Loss Month and felt it was even more significant that the The program started in October. We will be launching the new Ruby bear in line with our 2011 Field of Angels Appeal.
Ruby bears are given to bereaved families through every maternity hospital or directly to the family when they suffer the loss of their baby.
You can buy your very own Ruby bear by visiting our online store.
Or donate a Ruby bear to another bereaved family through the program.
Journey Bear
We are very pleased to announce the arrival of our brilliant "JOURNEY BEAR" Named in honour of the journey we take when we suffer the loss of our babys.
Care Package
It is our aim to meet bereaved families needs at all times and so the bear giving program has grown and expanded into being a complete care package provided to bereaved families across Australia. The Care Package is offered to all families who have experienced the loss of their baby during pregnancy or birth including miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for feotal abnormality or neo natal death.
